iCalendar support for the fixture lists now available

Our Fixtures page now contains a drop-down to allow you to subscribe to your squad's fixtures for the season.

If you use an electronic or online diary such as iPhone, iPod, iPad, OS X, Android, Outlook or Thunderbird/Lightning, you can subscribe to the link and have it automatically synchronised.

Here's how.

  1. Open up the "Subscribe..." list and right click on the squad you are interested in
  2. Right-click and copy the URL to the clipboard (the actual menu item varies depending on your browser of choice. In Firefox the menu item is "Copy Link Location")
  3. ... and then follow the instructions below...

Apple Devices

  1. Open "Settings"
  2. Open "Mail, Contacts, Calendars"
  3. Tap "Add Account…"
  4. Tap "Other"
  5. Tap "Add Subscribed Calendar"
  6. In the server field, paste in the url (http://www.salcomberugby.org.uk/ical)
  7. Tap "next"

You might need to manually enable the subscribed calendar in the Calendar app. Open the app and tap the "calendars" button, tick the subscribed calendar and tap "done".

Google Calendar

  1. Log into your Google Calendar
  2. Click the twistie on "Other calendars" and choose add by url
  3. Paste in the url (http://www.salcomberugby.org.uk/ical)
  4. Click refresh

It takes a few moments for the calendar to pull down into Google Calendar...

Android

Your Android device will sync the SRFC entries in your Google calendar (see above)

Thunderbird/Lighning

Thunderbird with the Lightning Calendar plugin:

  1. Right-click on the left-hand pane and choose "New Calendar"
  2. Click "on the network" and click "Next"
  3. Select iCalendar (ics)
  4. Enter the url (http://www.salcomberugby.org.uk/ical) and click "Next"
  5. Give your calendar a name (show alarms and email are not required)
  6. Click "Next" then "Finish"

Outlook

Outlook users should follow the instructions supplied here
