Salcombe U9 played Totnes (score unrecorded)

20th Nov 2011

The sun shone at Salcombe for both teams. Everyone gathered and the teams were chosen. Salcombe started and found themselves playing an effective forwards game. Totnes were on the back foot for some time which enabled them to “hone” their defensive skills, which thankfully they did. There was some very nice running from Billy who overall scored the most tries today. Francis and Herbie up front played a game where the pressure they instilled into the game made the difference to the final scores. Callum was in the wars again and had a bump or two but survived to the final whistle. Our under tens were solid with Harry giving his all, a player for the future, if there ever was one. James and Freddie played a supportive game which we “player coaches” know, are the back bone to every team, Joe C and the rest were effective in their set pieces and the subsequent phases which kept the ball flowing. By the end of the game all were tired and ready for the Club House. Totnes “Man of the Match” was Billy well done him. The real winners of the game today were the six players from Salcombe who along with the Totnes boys had two great games of Youth Rugby.
