A display that will rank amongst one of the disappointing of recent years the Crabs succumbed to a lackluster defeat to a highly motivated Dartmouth side who bullied and out-fought Salcombe for 78 minutes. One of the few moments to remember was a fine individual try from stand in fly-half Liam Wills who powered over after driving himself some 20 yards through heavy traffic in nearly the last play of the game.
Salcombe will be keen to move on from this performance with some self-reflection required before what will be a no less tough assignment against Topsham away on Saturday. The squad should beĀ very aware that a similar showing could have an even more dramatic scoreline.
