Cider Barrel Race

The cider barrel race was a fund raising event for local charities. Each year the route would change carrying an empty beer barrel and sometimes would involve rowing. It was the idea of local man Michael (Mick) Fitzgerald and Irish man but we wont hold that against him who played for the club and came up with idea. Following the race rough cider was consumed and proceeds going to charity. The club won it one year, the pictures from 1989 the club was disqualified at it didnt have the right amount of finishing competitors.
